Ccsf Calendar 2023 – To provide UCSF life sciences students with mentoring skills and knowledge, including advising, mentoring, and coaching, so they can support the diversity of the research teams. In addition to this training experience, the program will provide professional support and a community of colleagues to solve teaching challenges, as well as recognition of the work of colleagues.
Up to ten graduate students and postdoctoral scholars will be selected in January 2021 to support interns in the winter and spring of 2021 and serve as UCSF-CCSF inclusive mentors. The fellows mentor CCSF interns who are training to become lab assistants or technicians, or who plan to pursue a biology degree. This program was funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation to the UCSF Office of Research and Professional Development (OCPD, PI: Naledi Saul and Laurence Clement) in collaboration with City College of San Francisco (PI: James Levis and Karen Leung) .

Internships are scheduled in the Biology Internship Program, part of the CCSF Biotechnology Program. CCSF biotechnology students are typically adults of diverse backgrounds (including some without a college degree and others with a 4-year degree or more) training to become laboratory assistants or laboratory technicians, although some intend to continue as professionals or professionals. postgraduate studies. Biology students follow a parallel curriculum with TRAIN-UP training as part of an NSF-funded collaboration between UCSF and CCSF.

Spring 2021 (January-May) CCSF biology interns can complete their internship either virtually, in-person, or a combination of virtual and in-person. Complete management students are welcome to propose any or all three spring 2021 internship options, and these options may vary based on the experience and educational level of the intern.
Developing mentoring, training and management skills will help you get started as a PI in an academic institution or as a scientist in industry. In addition, teaching institutions particularly value the experience of supporting students from diverse backgrounds, where faculty members are expected to provide undergraduate research experiences. students (for more information, visit our ACRA website). Since the students and technicians you will be working with in your new lab may come from very different backgrounds than you or your colleagues at UCSF, it is important that you get these skills as soon as you become a graduate student and in your post. The main attraction here is the amazing art teachers. If it's not good, they'll tell you and help you improve it. I love coming to City College.
I want to be able to give a voice to the student body, to empower them and encourage them to be an active part.

Strict limits on how the money is spent and strong accountability and audit mechanisms (see more minutes here). SF VERCS is a critical step in the fight to revitalize our city's largest and most accessible source of degree and workforce training. But to make sure it goes to voters in San Francisco in November, we need 14,000 signatures, and that means YOU!

Yesterday, June 8, your negotiating team attempted to negotiate with the District regarding the impact of recent demolition work. The lead negotiator, Elena Fredericks, opened with this statement (click here to read the full statement).
Apelah Events — Care For Seniors, Families For Children
Your bargaining team worked together to develop proposals related to severance pay, health benefits, educational benefits, access to district facilities, reassignment/call rights, pay and workload balance, and retirement.

The district team was not ready to deal with these issues. In fact, their chief negotiator, Clara Starr, seems to have no authority to negotiate or hold her team accountable. For example, Vice President of Finance John El-Amin did not provide basic financial information before the meeting and could not prepare or review anything during the meeting because he was involved in high-level labor negotiations. He was busy driving.
After David Martin got to college, the working relationship went from bad to worse. The Public Relations Board (PERB) recently upheld the AFT's Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) claim over alleged bad faith negotiations over back wages. Despite this, the area was still dealing with bad deals yesterday. The county does not appear to be taking any corrective action and their behavior yesterday led to yet another unfair labor practice.

The district will not make a firm commitment to respond to our recommendations and the remaining requests for information (RFI), including information about how much the district is saving from the layoffs. They claim it took more than three weeks to provide preliminary pay data on the savings from the furloughs—a clear indication that our decision to cut faculty was not driven by budget concerns.
We urge the region to negotiate in good faith. We are asking trustees who are employers of David Martin (not the other way around) to stop the layoffs and maintain a commitment to affordable higher education in San Francisco.

Please join us for our next confirmed meeting on Wednesday, June 15th at 3:00pm and our interim meeting on Monday, June 13th at 3:30pm. Will their friend survive? Come see it for yourself.
