We recommend that you carefully review the Cal Poly Pomona transfer acceptance requirements before applying. Admission to Cal Poly Pomona is competitive because we have more qualified applicants than we can accept. Cal Poly Pomona will consider you for another field of study if space is available. However, there is no guarantee that your major/alternative program will be considered. We will give priority to applicants from the same field of study. The Spring 2023 application cycle will be open only to returning applicants and international applicants in all fields of study. All admission requirements must be met by the end of summer 2022.
Cal Poly Pomona is accepting applications for all undergraduate courses for the fall semester 2022. All admission requirements must be met by the end of spring 2022 (before enrollment).
Those who have or will be awarded an Associate Degree by Transfer (AD-T) by the end of summer 2021 will be considered for admission.

Temporary admission students who intend to enroll at Cal Poly Pomona must submit official transcripts from all participating institutions upon request from the Office of Admissions.

Cal State has joined with the University of California to end the use of entrance exams for new students. The system now creates a new set of criteria that will be changed for the first time since 2018. 1965 The plan will focus on high school grades and students' life experiences.

Cal State and Senate academic system officials claim that research shows high school grades are a better predictor of how students will perform in their first year of college than test scores. Studies have shown that test scores have limited predictive power when combined with high school grades. SAT manufacturers say the test's predictive power is important. The SAT puts low-income students at a disadvantage by rewarding students with financial resources to hire tutors or enroll in test preparation courses to improve test scores.
Both the UC and Cal State systems have become "test blinds," a rare club of academia and 86 systems across the country. Another 1,825 campuses do not require test scores. but will evaluate if students submit this information. which is a concept known as "Extra test"

Currently, the minimum eligibility requirement is a 2.5 grade point average for California high school graduates and 3.0 if the applicant is not a resident of the state.
