Registration, Mandatory/Highway Fees and Optional Fees will be completed and posted no later than "Last Day for Departure with Full Refund" as listed under Important Dates. Full payment of tuition and fees must be received on the day all fees are posted and on the census date listed in the academic calendar.

Sf State To Start Spring Semester Virtually Amidst Omicron Wave

For payments to third parties, the person responsible for the payments must send an invoice authorization letter to cgeadmin@sfsu.edu. SF State sends invoices to third parties after the census date. All tuition and fees are displayed in the Student Center until payment is processed/received.

Although enrollment in SF State Extended Learning is not considered admission to SF State, students entering a full-time program at SF State Extended Learning are issued a DS-2019 for J-1 student status and require a visa to enter. the country Students entering the United States of America on a J-1 visa must maintain full-time student status as long as they are enrolled in an approved program at SF State Extended Learning.

The study abroad or international office of the home institution must nominate their students using the nomination form. Once the application form is received, reviewed and approved, we will email the application directly to the students and copy the home institution.

College Of Extended Learning

Students must show proof of funding for education and living expenses throughout their studies at SF State. See Financial Confirmation (PDF) for minimum amount required and additional information.

Submit a copy of the bio page showing your full legal name and date of birth.

Submit a copy of college transcripts with overall grade point average (GPA). If you have never attended college, please submit a copy of your high school/high school transcripts. If the transcript is not in English, please submit a copy in the original language and a certified English translation. Transcripts are used to assist undergraduate applicants in advising and course placement. Students applying to graduate courses must demonstrate a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Application Procedure, Dates & Cost

Basic Education: TOEFL iBT 61, IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. Score must be less than 2 years old.

Students from certain countries may be exempt from the English language requirement. See English language requirement for details.

Fill out the Preliminary Course Wish List form (PDF) with 10 classes that interest you during your desired SF State semester. List the classes in order of priority. A complete list of SF State classes can be found in the SF State Bulletin. Please note that not all classes are offered each semester. Fall 2022 class schedules will be available in April 2022. Submission of a preliminary wish list using course information in the newsletter or class schedule is encouraged, but not required for admission. After we receive your initial course wish list, we will provide you with an initial consultation. You can update your preferences after the class schedule is published.
